ADC Resolution
An n-bit converter splits its reference into 2ⁿ steps, so one LSB = Vref / 2ⁿ. The best signal-to-noise an ideal converter can manage is 6.02n + 1.76 dB — every extra bit buys about 6 dB.

Ideal quantisation only. Real converters lose bits to noise and non-linearity — the datasheet ENOB is the honest number, and your reference accuracy caps everything.
