Lug / Padeye Analysis

A loaded lug can fail three ways: bearing crushing at the pin, net-section tension across the reduced width, or shear-out tearing to the free edge. All three must pass.

Simple net-section checks. A real lug analysis applies Kt curves for the hole and checks the pin in bending — see the MMPDS / Bruhn lug method.
