Truss Solver

Solves any statically determinate 2D truss by the method of joints. Enter the geometry once and every member force falls out, signed: positive is tension, negative is compression. The compression members are the ones that need a buckling check — a tie only has to be strong, a strut has to be stable as well.

Joints

Namex (mm)y (mm)Support Load Fx (N)Load Fy (N)

Loads are in newtons: Fy is positive upward, so a downward load is negative. A pin resists both directions; a roller resists vertically only.

Truss

tension   compression   zero-force. Line thickness is proportional to force.

Pin-jointed, statically determinate, small-deflection truss analysis. Members carry axial force only — no bending, no joint stiffness, no second-order effects. Compression members must be checked separately for buckling. A helper, not a substitute for engineering judgment.
