IP Rating Chart
IEC 60529 ingress protection. The first digit is solids, the second is liquids — so IP67 is dust tight and survives temporary immersion. A higher liquid digit does not always include the lower ones (IPx7 does not imply IPx5 jets).
First digit — solids

Second digit — liquids

An X means "not rated" for that digit (e.g. IPX4). Sealing is only as good as the connector and cable gland — see the connectors cheat sheet.
